Wapping High School Celebrates Exceptional GCSE Results

Students and staff at Wapping High School are celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE results, with key subjects significantly outperforming the national average.

This year’s results show exceptional performance in core subjects, with the school’s pass rates for both Maths and English once again well above the national average. A remarkable 70% of students achieved a Grade 5 or higher in English, a key measure of strong performance.

The school’s commitment to academic excellence is reflected across the curriculum. In Languages, 66% of students achieved a Grade 7 or higher. The school also saw a perfect outcome for its pioneering Mandarin Excellence Programme, where 100% of learners achieved a Grade 7 or above after completing the five-year course.

These results are a testament to the hard work and resilience of our students and the unwavering support and guidance of our dedicated staff. We are incredibly proud of what they have achieved.

We wish our year 11 learners all the very best for their next steps as they specialise in the subjects and vacations that they feel most passionate about as they continue into post-16 education. We look forward to hearing about the many successes that this fantastic group of individuals will achieve in their exciting lives ahead.

We are delighted that once again, learners at Wapping High School were able to achieve excellent results across our broad and ambitious curriculum.  This was galvanised by maths, English literature, triple science and modern foreign languages, all of which are examples of subjects where learners made significantly more progress than the national average.

Tom Raw, Headteacher, commented: “We are all so incredibly proud of our students’ hard work, dedication of staff, and incredibly positive results.”

Chair of Governors Kerstyn Comley commented, ‘These great results cap another positive year for Wapping High School and launch our students towards the best possible future.’

A parent also commented ‘Thank you to the teachers and the school for all that you have done.  It is the partnership that really makes it work.’

All Year 11 students leaving the school this year are going onto further educational and vocational training. We wish all students the very best of luck for their future. We look forward to receiving 2026 results and hope that they are just as fantastic as this year if not better!

“Pupils benefit from a carefully considered curriculum which is broad and balanced…Teachers have strong subject knowledge.”
