Partnership with Elpro International School in Pune, India

One of the ways we are committed to broadening horizons at Wapping High School is by building partnerships with other schools across the globe so that our students can really become global citizens.  We are honoured to have established a partnership with ELPRO International School in Pune in India and we are excited to be working on a range of projects between the students and staff of both schools.

During the COVID 19 pandemic, as physical barriers increased and our students began a protracted period of lockdown, we invited a group of students from ELPRO and Wapping High to join together through weekly virtual meetings via Zoom. From these sessions a collaborative project evolved in which students decided to research the origins of the pandemic and explored the economic, environmental and political impact of Covid 19 across a range of different countries. In order to share some of their research,  they decided to present some of their findings as a mock press conference. This event was live streamed via Facebook, with students taking audience questions on July 16th 2020.
This final event was a great way to conclude and showcase what has been a really rewarding and exciting initiative in which all the students have shown great independence of thought, perseverance and resilience.  They have thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with new friends and being the pioneers for this new partnership.

Partnership with Geneva

This year we established a partnership with a high school in Switzerland called Ecole de Commerce Nicolas Bouvier.

Students have been exchanging letters and practising their written French.

We were also delighted to host the students from Geneva for a visit where Wapping students delivered lessons and quizzes as a way to get to know their new friends.

Partnership with UEL

Wapping High School and University of East London have formed a special community partnership that has and will benefit students, providing outstanding educational opportunities to develop, build social capital and provide 21st century skills and knowledge to make valued decisions about their future Post-16 educational and career journey.

  • Phenomenal physiology project mixing Science and Sport Physiology with real every-day, life by demonstrating to students how relevant these subjects are in the real-world and thereby consolidating learning in Biology and Sports Science.  Enabling students to participate in 3 or 4 online workshops in consecutive weeks where they will perform scientific experiments.
