the wapping high school
The Wapping High academic year starts in September of each year and is divided into 6 half terms called modules. Every year we have five training days all of which are focused on maintaining the highest standards of learning and teaching at the school.
The length of the school day during a normal school week is slightly different to some other schools. Every day starts at 8:30 am and on most days finishes at 3:40 pm. Each of the six daily lessons lasts one hour and some subjects, particularly at GCSE and BTEC level, enjoy double lessons of focused study and activity during the timetable.
On Wednesdays, students leave school at the end of lunch (1pm) to allow them the opportunity to work on their individual projects and also their homework.
Staff meetings and Leadership Team meetings then take place during Wednesday afternoons.
On Fridays, school finishes 1 hour earlier although many subjects run study support clubs during this gained time.
If you have any questions regarding the school week and a new calendar feel free to contact the school at admin@Wapping High.org.
